When it all started
Mist Mountain Resort opened its doors in 2022, but the vision behind it began much earlier—back in the early 2000s. Long before there were villas or pathways, there was simply an idea: to create a mountain resort that would let people reconnect with nature without having to travel far from the city.
At the time, it didn’t even have a name. It was simply called the "eco-tourism mountain resort project." But even without a formal identity, the heart of the vision was clear—we didn’t want to build just another resort with walls and rooms. We wanted to grow something that felt alive. Something green, rooted, and deeply connected to the mountains.
Planting the seeds
So we planted trees. Over four thousand seedlings—some sourced all the way from Mindanao—were carefully brought in and planted across the property. We waited and watched as they grew, shaping the landscape and laying the foundation for what would one day become Mist Mountain.
By 2018, a tree inventory conducted by the CENRO office revealed that 6,031 trees had taken root here—only 1,256 of them were naturally growing. The rest were planted as part of our early commitment to regeneration and reforestation.
Today, Narra, Molave, Madre de Cacao, Fire Trees, and Kamagong make up most of our lush forest cover, along with other trees like Agoho, Lansones, Rambutan, Nangka, and Talisay.
Fun fact: The names of our villas and campground platforms are inspired by some of these very trees, as a quiet tribute to the forest that made Mist Mountain possible.
Our commitment
Aside from our commitment to nature preservation, we are just as proud of our people. We proudly employ a majority of locals from the surrounding mountain barangays—many of whom grew up just over the next ridge. Beyond offering jobs, we equip them with valuable skills they can carry with them, wherever life may take them. Mist Mountain is a place to grow—not just for trees, but for people too.
